Ron Gilbert has been a working actor in film, theatre, TV and commercials for over 45 years. He studied acting in New York at the Academy of Dramatic Arts, the Actors Studio in New York under the direction of Lee Strasberg and was also trained by Warren Robertson, Larry Moss, Peggy Feury, Phillip Burton, George Morrison, Ernie Martin, Milton Katselas, William Esper and Sal Dano.

He worked at the Actors Studio alongside Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, Ellen Burstyn, Estelle Parsons, Lee Grant, Robert DeNiro, Robert Duvall, Sally Kirkland, and other oscar winning actors.

He has worked in films with Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, Kevin Spacey, Bernicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Gabriel Byrne, James Caan, Chazz Palminteri, Eric Roberts, Chris Walken, Anthony LaPaglia, Brad Davis, James Garner, Charles Bronson, Dennis Quaid, Charles Durning, Lance Erickson, Tony Curtis, Richard Dreyfus, John Savage, Dennis Franz, Danny Hedaya, Paul Bartel, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Pollack.

He was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, Sydney Lumet, Bryan Singer, Martin Landau, Taylor Hackford, Ulli, John McNaughton, John Bohab, and Christopher Hewitt.

He taught internationally and was asked by Anna Strasberg to teach acting at the Strasberg Institute. He created an acting program at the Theatre of Arts, was the first teacher at Actors Academy Milano and has been an acting judge at the Actors Studio and the Methodfest Film Festival.

Last year at the Venice Film Festival the video presenting his techniques was very well received and offers poured in to do workshops in many other countries.

He has been an active member as a director, writer and actor at the Actors Studio and has done private coaching and prefers to incite the talent within actors by finding their personal key. His technique is unique and it is an evolution of the method and is tailor made for each student because not one aspect may work for all, so his process with actors is on a very intimate level of trust.
