The workshops run for about 12 weeks for a total of $600, (A deposit of $300 will hold a space) which can be paid, by cash, check or credit card.


Payments can be made to Promenade Playhouse or Ron Gilbert in person or (coming soon) at this website.


If you only wish to participate in a monthly class the cost is $200.


After the workshop you will be presented with at certificate of completion.

 

The workshops will consist of exercises, sensory work, affective memory, improvisations and scene work.  The main goal is to discover your talent potential and for the teacher to help allow you to unlock it.


All the work will be in a personal and imaginative process and each month there will be a private consultation.

ACTORS STUDIO MEMBER TEACHES ACTING FOR FILM AND STAGE

Ron Gilbert, a lifetime member of the Actors Studio will be conducting 12 weeks intensive training for the serious actor in theatre, film, and television (on camera), from September 22nd through December 16th at the Promenade Playhouse, in Santa Monica. Mr. Gilbert is dedicated to preserving the true ideals and methods of work taught by Lee Strasberg..

 The goal of our technique is to teach  actors how to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances. The technique emphasizes carrying out an action truthfully on stage and letting emotion and subtext build based on the truth of the action and on the other characters around them, rather than simply playing an action or emotion. The objective is to really listen and not to pretend to listen, and to react truthfully.
